Employment Process

Selection And Hiring Of Security Officers

The following is a brief overview of our pre-employment selection process, which is used in support of hiring for all our client sites. Our process identifies candidate who possess important traits we believe are critical to both us and our clients, such as honesty, integrity and a strong customer service orientation suited to every clients facility. Our screening process provides us with assurances that our prospective security officers:

  • Have a stable work history
  • Possess the appropriate psychological make up and temperament
  • Have well developed interpersonal communications skills
  • Can withstand scrutiny of a thorough background investigation
  • Are drug free

Wisconsin Executive Protection Officers must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Capability to exercise good judgment
  • Neat in dress and grooming
  • Able to deal courteously, tactfully and effectively with others, both in person and on the telephone
  • Able to communicate clearly in English with others, both verbally and in writing
  • Initiative, maturity, integrity and high ethical standards
Initial Interview

The pre-employment interview is conducted to eliminate those applicants who fail to meet our basic employment requirements, which determines if an applicant can become a security officer.

These requirements are:

  • Access to a telephone and reliable transportation
  • At least 21 years of age
  • A U.S. citizen or documentation allowing residency and authorization to work
  • Ability to read and write and speak English fluently as measured by written testing in those abilities
  • No disqualifying criminal record
  • A social security card
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
Drug Screening

W.E.P. mandates a drug free workplace with zero tolerance. One of the first things an applicant sees when entering our workspace is at W.E.P. we test for drugs. We do our testing in-house using a six panel testing kit; testing includes an Oral screen which is designed to detect the presence of the following:

  • Marijuana (THC)
  • Cocaine
  • Opiates
  • Methamphetamine

W.E.P. also conduct post-accident/injury and “for-cause” drug and alcohol testing as a matter of policy. In addition we conduct random drug screening in accordance with client requirements and statutory regulations.

Background Verification

W.E.P.  uses the State Bureau of Investigations through the Department of Regulations and Licenses to conduct pre-employment background verifications.

The State requirements for background verifications include the following:

  • Military service DD214 - nature of separation
  • Criminal records check both misdemeanor and felonies for a seven year residence history
  • Social Security trace
